A look is a complete stage picture: key light on the faces, fill to soften it, backlight to lift the performer off the cyc, colour to say what the song means. The brief is the same one a designer gets from an artist, a few words about mood and energy, and the skill is turning those words into intensity, angle, and colour decisions on real fixtures. Most beginners over-light: every unit on, every colour saturated, nothing reading. Designers subtract. This drill gives you a rig, a brief, and a live stage render, and scores the result against the brief on the things that matter: whether the faces read, whether the depth is there, whether the colour agrees with the mood.
